A Day Out In Keswick
06 September 2022
Keswick is a vibrant market town located in the north western region of Cumbria. It is an ideal location to access many of the delights the Lake District has to offer, as well as having a variety of great shops where you can splash some cash. If you've just got one day to spare in Keswick - here are 3 of the top things to do.
Explore Derwent Water
The town is sat on the shore of the wonderful Derwent Water which is ideal for wild swimming and renting a rowing boat for a Robinson Crusoe style exploration. You can also walk the entirety of the lake which is a 10 mile circuit.
Hike Cat Bells
Keswick is surrounded by Lakeland fells like Skiddaw, but the most iconic and family friendly is Cat Bells, with the height of 451m located 3 miles out of the town centre. It takes around 2 hours to reach the summit and at the top you are rewarded with 360° panoramic views of the surrounding fells.
Shop 'Til You Drop
The town itself has some great outdoor stores like George Fisher and some lovely gift shops dotted along Main Street like Friars and Love The Lakes. Keswick also has a string of great, independent eateries like vegan cafe Plant by Kat's Kitchen.
Here at Cardtoons, we have a selection of Keswick based souvenirs which you can find here.
