The Top 3 Beaches in North Yorkshire

As June approaches, the summer months are just around the corner and with the beautiful beaches on our doorstep in North Yorkshire, there's no need to jet off to Europe. I've found the top 3 beaches to visit that are ideal for family days out.

Saltburn Beach

Located near Redcar, Saltburn beach is a fantastic sandy and shingled beach where you can paddle and swim at ease as there is a lifeguard present during the summer months. There are also old Victorian relics that can be discovered and great fish and chip options within walking distance. It's also dog friendly!

Sandsend Beach

This beach is ideal if you have children who love rockpooling. When the tide goes out, lots of little rock pools are revealed which are perfect for spotting crabs. Sandsend is incredibly picturesque and perfect for swimmers as there is an area sectioned off in the summer months.

Filey Beach

Filey offers a 5 mile stretch of sandy, clean beach that is ideal for spending the day. Some parts are suitable for dog walking and there are nature trails in the area with local heritage sights to explore.
